What South Korea need to qualify from Group A
South Korea sit second in Group A on three points after two matches. Mexico are top on six and through to the last 32. Czechia and South Africa contest the final qualifying spot.
South Korea play South Africa in their final group match. A win sees Hong Myung-bo's side through to the knockout rounds. A draw or loss could open the door for Czechia, who play Mexico in the other final group match. Czechia would need to beat Mexico, which against a side already qualified and likely to rotate, is not impossible.
For Mexico, the qualification is the headline. For Mexico's manager, the performance is the issue. Two narrow wins, three goals scored, no real attacking threat from any of the front four. Mexico will need more if they want to go deep into their own World Cup.
